Everblue Training Institute Announces New Solar Heating Associate Curriculum

This interactive solar training course teaches students about the hands-on applications of solar thermal hot water systems.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Everblue Training Institute, the nation’s leading sustainability training provider, has announced the release of its newest course, Solar Heating Associate. This course will demonstrate the proper ways to install solar hot water, thereby rewarding homeowners with one of the quickest payback periods of all renewable energy technologies.

Solar thermal energy is technology that is used to harness solar energy from thermal energy. This is heat collected by either low, medium, or high collectors. These varying degrees cater to different types of energy, such as heating a pool to electric power production. This Solar Heating Associate course differs from Everblue’s Solar PV Associate training, as it does not discuss the direct conversion of energy to electricity.

Everblue’s Solar Heating Associate curriculum covers 12 major topics, including working safely with solar hot water and pool heating systems, identifying systems and their components, adapting a system design, installing solar collectors, performing a system checkout, and maintaining a solar thermal system.

“We are excited to be offering this Solar Heating Associate course because the demand for solar experience is tremendous,” said Chris Boggiano, Everblue principal. “With this training, individuals will enter a business sector where minimal competition exists. They will fill a critical shortage for professional solar contracting and become leaders in the new and rapidly growing green economy.”

The Solar Heating Associate training course encourages plumbers, architects, engineers, and solar contractors to take the NABCEP Certified Solar Thermal Installer Exam. NABCEP stands for North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. NABCEP's mission is to set national standards to help facilitate the growth of the renewable energy industry.

The Solar Thermal Installer certification qualifies a professional to complete solar heating system installations. Certification provides a measure of protection to the public by giving them a credential for judging the competency of practitioners. It is not intended to prevent qualified individuals from installing solar heating systems nor to replace state licensure requirements.
