Jamie Zelenak-Hyre Named ‘Emerging Leader’ at Charlotte Business Journal’s CIO of the Year Awards

Everblue is proud to announce that Jamie Zelenak-Hyre, Instructional Technology Specialist, received the “Emerging Leader” award at the inaugural CIO of the Year awards hosted by the Charlotte Business Journal. Recognized among some of Charlotte’s top IT leaders, Zelenak-Hyre was chosen for her adaptability and success in her new role.

“We lean on Jamie because she’s in tune with every aspect of the business, and she keeps us moving in the right direction,” said Paige Hanson, the LEED program manager for Everblue. “What distinguishes Jamie in the IT field is the different perspective and experience that she brings to her position. She often thinks outside of her ‘IT world’ to move the business forward and calls attention to the interaction between departments and takes a holistic approach to problem-solving so each department achieves the desired outcome from technology.”

Nominations for the award were evaluated by a panel of experts from business and academic circles chosen by the local chapter of the Society for Information Management. The panelists’ scoring of the nominees determined the selection of the finalists.

At Everblue, Zelenak-Hyre’s responsibilities include understanding how various systems integrate to support academic programs, serve student needs and meet Everblue’s business objectives. She accomplishes these goals by managing the student learning experience within Everblue’s learning management system.

This was the second notable award Zelenak-Hyre received this year. In September, she was awarded a Bronze Stevie® for Technical Professional of the Year. This marked the third Stevie® honor for Everblue in 2013.
