Regardless of your education, occupation, or work experience – you ARE eligible to sit for the LEED Green Associate exam.

Granted, having work experience or education in a related field of architecture, engineering, construction management, etc. certainly offers some advantages in terms of a base familiarity of green building terms and strategies. NABCEP, or the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners, sent out an email blast in early May 2017 to announce two new certifications on the horizon: PV Systems Inspector (PVSI) and Solar Heating System Inspector (SHSI).

These solar inspector certifications are primarily intended for individuals performing system inspections for Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), utilities, incentive programs, investors, and others performing quality assurance of photovoltaic (PV) and solar heating systems and code compliance.
