Last month I was lucky enough to attend Penn State’s Solar PV Installation Train-the-Trainer course. Hosted at the Eaton facility in Warrendale, PA, the course lasted a week and included three different PV installations. In attendance were solar instructors whose backgrounds varied from electrical engineer to solar installer. Leading the program was Penn State’s solar team who represent a collective resume that more than qualified them for the job.

Within the last 5-10 years, the world has seen an exponential growth in the solar photovoltaic (PV) market. Production has ramped up in the U.S., Germany, China, and Japan and with that has come the demand for distributors, installers and educators. Although much of the growth in the sector can be attributed to utility-scale applications, we are seeing substantial numbers in the residential and commercial sector as well.

My First Week at Everblue

Dogs. The thing I noticed first when I walked into Everblue’s office in Huntersville, NC was the fact that there were dogs. A big Rhodesian Ridgeback named Leo and a tiny ball of fur named Griffin. Of course there is sweet Lola and the happy (but cautious) Goldendoodle, Riley. They all mingle throughout the office, but eventually settle in by their owners. After having been properly sniffed, I began to settle in at my empty desk. Jamie and Mike gave me some reassuring words, and then it was time to get busy.  Read more: My First Week at Everblue »
