everblue plaqueAs I navigated my way into the Everblue office this morning, I saw our newest plaque which was recently sent from Bagram Airbase, Afghanistan. This plaque, dedicated to Everblue Training Institute, contains the flag that flew over Bagram Airbase on the 1st of April, 2011. It says:

"Be it known by all: this flag was flown in the face of the enemy, illuminated in the dark, and bears witness to the removal of terrorist forces . . . "

Here at Everblue, we are grateful that this plaque was sent here and it means a lot to our staff as we continue our mission to improve national energy security and quality of life. We meet our mission by providing best in class LEED training, BPI Certification, Solar Training, etc. The tens of thousands of students that we train in these courses go forth motivated and prepared to improve our energy and environmental footprints.

To even get to the plaque near the front door, I had to navigate my bike through the other bikes in the office and make sure that the office mascots (see Riley and Shamus in the below image) did not get out the front door. What is special about our company is that we practice what we preach. About half our staff lives within walking distance to our office which is located within a completely walk-able community called Birkdale Village. This is called location efficiency, which recent studies have shown to be the single biggest determinant of a person's energy and carbon footprints.

This Memorial day, I encourage you to think about what you are doing to reduce your energy footprint. God Bless America.
