Last month, Everblue attended the New York Contractor Exchange, which sought to help contractors grow their business in the burgeoning clean energy and home performance markets. The exchange, which took place from May 15 to May 18, was hosted in two different New York locations: Buffalo and Long Island. In addition to assisting contractors, the exchange served to provide specific opportunities available through the ENERGY STAR and Home Performance program. Below are some highlights according to the Everblue employees who had attended:

Buffalo State College

  • Conference put together by Buffalo State’s Small Business Development Center with keynote speaker Susan McCartney at the SBDC
  • Experiencing many of the green initiatives in town, including solar panels at Buffalo State and wind turbines by the shores of Lake Erie. - Networking with industry professionals from BPI, TrueTech Tools and NYSERDA
  • Interacting with New York contractors specializing in building performance, in order to understand their specific training needs to help them become more successful.

Molloy College Sustainability Institute

  • Experiencing the great sustainability campus offered by Molloy College, which had many sustainable features, including solar panels.
  • Great Event dinner at the 56th Fighter Group Restaurant.

Overall, the New York Contractor Exchange was a great success and we at Everblue greatly look forward to the next iteration! For more information about home energy performance training, please visit our BPI Training or ENERGY STAR Version 3 Training courses!
