Everblue employee, Mike Hopper, was asked by Senator Barbara Boxer to attend a debate between her and challenger, Karly Fiorina, that took place on Sep 29th. Ms. Fiorina has been critical of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) which has been supported by Senator Boxer. Ms. Fiorina has claimed that the ARRA has not created a single job.

Mike Hopper has indeed benefited through the ARRA. Mike initially received his BPI training and certifications through Everblue with funding provided through the Workforce Development Program of San Bernardino County. The funding for this Workforce Development Program originated through the ARRA.

Mike was not only invited to the debate but to a fundraising event as a guest of Senator Boxer and was briefly interviewed by NBC. Mike had a chance to speak with Senator Boxer and reiterated Everblue's sentiments that Senator Boxer do everything in her power to:

  • See that the Home Star Legislation is enacted without further delay.
  • Reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
  • Make American homes more energy efficient.
  • Put unemployed Americans back to work.

Senator Boxer made it clear to Mike that she supports these items and will continue working towards reducing our dependency on foreign oil, green jobs and clean energy.
