The NASEO 2012 Annual Meeting took place in Minneapolis, MN in early September. This was Everblue’s first time attending the event.

The premise of the meeting is to encourage states to partner with America’s leading companies to advance energy and economic opportunities. We were excited to meet with people from far-away destinations including representatives from Alaska, Virgin Islands, Guam, and China. We spoke with them about the courses Everblue currently offers as well as developing ones such as Aquaponics. The Alaskan representative was very interested in how our Aquaponics program could benefit communities in Alaska.

We met with people from the NEED Project and Alliance to Save Energy. These organizations are interesting because they specialize in providing green training to students grades k-12 and their teachers.

One of the most exciting sessions from NASEO 2012 was the keynote luncheon presented by Mateo Jaramillo titled, “Tesla Motors Leading the Charge to Maximize Electric Vehicle Efficiency.”

Tesla Motors aims to accelerate the world's transition to electric mobility. Their recently launched Model S set a new EPA record for an electric vehicle range of 265 miles. The Model S, which was designed from the start as an electric car, also has more power than any other electric car. During this keynote, we learned about Tesla's technology advancements, customer engagement techniques, and the regulatory challenges facing the electric vehicle market. Most importantly, this session explored how states can partner with companies to advance electric vehicle infrastructure deployment to drive the future.

We enjoyed attending NASEO 2012 and look forward to next year’s event. It was motivating to be surrounded by so many other professionals looking to advance clean energy technology. It’s important to hear from other industry professionals to know where the industry is going. This gives us a better idea of how Everblue’s services can best meet the needs of consumers, technicians, and other individuals looking to promote energy efficiency. Staying on the cutting edge so YOU can take your business or professional development to the next level is what Everblue does best!
