We are excited to announce that our Curriculum Development Manager, Glenn Mauney, has been appointed to the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) Credentialing Award Committee! Glenn previously participated on the Working Group that reviewed the Institute for Sustainable Power Quality (ISPQ) International Standard 01022. The Working Group's goal was to update the standard in a way that reflects the changing needs of training and education specific to clean energy and energy efficiency. Since this is the first round of applicants vying for IREC Accreditation under the new standard, Glenn was asked to join the award committee to help ensure the proper delivery and representation of the standard. So far, Glenn is the only member of the award committee who helped develop the new standard!

The IREC Credentialing Award Committee reviews applications for both trainers and training organizations. As a member of the committee, Glenn is responsible for the following:

  • Reviewing assessor's reports
  • Attending monthly Award Committee meetings via teleconference or online meeting (or more frequently if requested by IREC staff)
  • Engaging in discussion with assessors, IREC staff, and IREC award committee members and issue a determination to award the credential, to terminate the candidacy, or to call the additional iterations and/or information
  • Advising IREC staff, where applicable, on provisions to include in the Award Letter

We're very proud of Glenn for his contributions to IREC and the renewable energy training industry. Glenn spearheaded Everblue's training program accreditation (under the previous standard) for our Solar PV Installer and Solar Sales Professional courses. With that experience and his time on the Working Group developing the new standard, Glenn joins the award committee with a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to be a quality training provider.

He is a great choice for joining this esteemed committee, and we look forward to learning more about his experiences.
