We recently wrote about how Everblue offers live and online solar energy training courses. Specifically, the live training is our 5-day advanced solar panel installation training. We talked a lot about the benefits of hands-on solar installation training, but what about those who are new to solar and want to learn the basic principles?

If you're looking to learn more about solar energy, visit our Introduction to Solar series.

Benefits of Online Solar Training

If you Google any term related to solar, you’re bound to see thousands of articles that explain how solar energy works. If you’ve got the time to spare, I’m sure there are tons of great resources out there. But if you don’t have the time, you might consider participating in an online solar training course.

Online training itself offers a multitude of conveniences, including:

  • Instant access to course materials
  • Learning portal with course materials all in one place
  • Stop and start at your convenience
  • Track progress and pick up where you left off
  • Pause, rewind, restart as needed
  • 24/7 access
  • Mobile-device friendly

But with online solar training, in particular, you cut out redundant information that you’ll find on hundreds of web pages and focus on only the concepts that will advance your knowledge and skills.

At Everblue, we recommend that all candidates start with the Entry Level Solar Training course. This is a 40-hour online solar training course that introduces the fundamentals of solar energy and explains the different types of solar energy systems (ex: solar photovoltaic vs. solar thermal). Given the duration of the training, you can imagine that this recorded webinar covers a wide range of topics and offers a comprehensive introduction to solar.

Here's a preview of the course:

Beyond Solar Training

The Entry Level Solar Training course is aligned with the NABCEP Job Task Analysis and qualifies participants to sit for the NABCEP PV Associate exam.

NABCEP stands for North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners and is the leading organization for solar certification.

Individuals who pass the exam can list their passing score on the NABCEP PV Associate exam on their resume and LinkedIn profile. This distinction not only provides someone with real-world solar PV knowledge but also gives them an opportunity to stand out from other jobseekers.
