Utah Contractors Meet CE Deadline

Wed, 2011-11-30 01:00

Update: Everblue no longer offers the Utah CE program.

Wow, today was a busy day for contractors in Utah. Today is the first ever deadline for Utah's mandatory contractor continuing education (CE) requirement. This program mandates that licensed Utah contractors complete six hours of CE training, and it seems like many contractors waited until the last minute!

Those who did not acquire the necessary continuing education hours in the allotted timeframe chose to render their Utah contractor’s license inactive. They will only be able to reactivate their contractor’s license by achieving the required continuing education hours and will have to pay Utah Department of Professional Licensing a late fee. This new CE requirement will be due November 30th annually.

Fortunately, Everblue’s Utah Contractor Continuing Education course is perfect for the busy contractor that doesn't have the time to find the appropriate classes that would be approved by the Utah Department of Professional Licensing. Our program is completely online and on-demand, which means you can stop and start the webinar training as many times as you need to get your continuing education requirement done. The added bonus is that the content in the course includes the latest in green building trends. Example topics include Green Building Standards and OSHA Safety Considerations.

This new Utah requirement had some hiccups along the way, such as the new contractor license numbers that were issued due to this new policy, but we were pleased to see so many individuals fearlessly take on this program to maintain their contractor’s license. Utah’s licensing board must also have been delighted by the participation; because this was the inaugural year of Utah continuing education, the board was very accommodating and assisted contractors with questions they may have had regarding the process.

If you know that continuing education requirements are in your future for 2012, go ahead and set aside six hours sometime between now and then so you can meet your requirements with time to spare. For more information, please visit Everblue’s Utah Contractor Continuing Education course page.
