If you’re reading this post, that means you’ve completed a LEED exam prep course from an approved USGBC Education Partner like Everblue. Now, you may be wondering, what do I do next?

Paying for Your LEED Exam

Once you’ve reviewed your course content and study materials to your heart’s content, you will need to pay for the LEED exam. The cost of the exam is $250, unless you are a USGBC Member or Full-Time Student. Two notes here: (1) The USGBC member discount is only applicable to those who work for a company that is a member of the USGBC National chapter and not for those who are individual members of their local USGBC regional chapter. (2) You must be at least 18 years old to take the LEED Exam, so the full-time student status will only apply to high school students who meet this requirement as well as college students and higher. If you meet the USGBC Member requirement, the LEED exam price drops to $200. If you meet the Full-Time Student requirement, the LEED exam price drops to $100. For most individuals, the cost of the exam will be $250.

You will pay the U.S. Green Building Council directly for your LEED exam. You can do this by visiting www.usgbc.org/credentials and clicking on the gray REGISTER FOR THE EXAM button. You will then see a series of LEED exams for purchase. If this is your first LEED exam, you will choose the LEED Green Associate Core Exam (the first option). Follow the on-screen instructions, and voila! After you pay, you will receive a confirmation email from USGBC that mentions your Eligibility ID – hold onto this email because you will use the Eligibility ID in the next step!

Scheduling Your LEED Exam

The LEED exam is administered by Prometric. The USGBC has partnered with Prometric to deliver the LEED exam so no matter where you live or work, you will be guaranteed the same testing experience. Prometric is a highly secure computer lab that specializes in exam proctoring.

You can find your local Prometric Testing Center by visiting www.prometric.com/gbci. Since you have now paid for your LEED exam, you will click on the SCHEDULE MY TEST button. You will be asked to choose which exam you are seeking and then to enter in your geographic location. The website will then pull up the closest testing centers to you. From there, you will be able to submit your Eligibility ID and choose the date and time of your unique testing session.

The entire post-course process takes about 10 minutes. Good luck! Let us know how you score on your LEED exam – email info@everbluetraining.com with your experience!
