New LEED CMP Requirement

Thu, 2009-09-24 01:35

The GBCI has launched a LEED credential maintenance program. All current LEED Green Associates and LEED Accredited Professionals with Specialty received the below message from the GBCI. What’s interesting is that the GBCI launched the LEED credential maintenance program on August 1st but won't allow anyone to report their hours until November 1st. It’s not that important, since you have two years to accumulate 15 hours for LEED GAs and 30 hours for LEED APs. Given the breadth of what qualifies for credential maintenance, very few people should have a hard time staying on top of this.

We’ll have additional posts forthcoming with our analysis of the LEED CMP program and the impact on you. Also, Everblue is already a USGBC Education Provider, and we will have numerous opportunities to help you meet the requirements.

Here is the email letter from the GBCI:

Dear (name),

GBCI has just launched our online Credentialing Maintenance reporting system in My Credentials! You are now enrolled in our Credentialing Maintenance Program (CMP) and you can begin earning continuing education (CE) hours for a variety of activities. Your CMP reporting period is 8/1/2009 to 7/31/2011. You have this period to complete and report the CMP requirements for your credential.

See the attached CMP Guide, which details the policies and procedures for GBCI’s Credentialing Maintenance Program. To view more information about CMP, visit our website at To check the status of your credentialing maintenance, log in to My Credentials at any time. (You will be able to report your CE hours in My Credentials after November 1, 2009.) Feel free to contact GBCI customer service at 1-800-795-1746 (within the US) or +1-202-828-1145 (outside the US) or at, if you have any questions.
