I arrived in Paris on a glorious Sunday that promised the coming of spring printemps in French. I made it in time for Mass at Notre Dame and then headed to le Jardin du Luxembourg to watch families and children recreating at this beautiful garden.

RESNET Annual Report - 2010

RESNET Released it’s 2010 Annual Report today. Previously, BPI released their 2010 summary (see the BPI 2010 Summary Posting) and it is interesting to note that both BPI and RESNET have grown significantly and enhanced their networks in 2010. RESNET has a number of interesting initiatives coming to fruition and we are excited to support RESNET in 2011 with RESNET HERS Rater Training.

LEED for Homes Green Raters and NAHB Green Verifiers

From builders and buyers to consumers and corporations, the motivation to go green is everywhere. As a result, a number of certifications exist to pursue and verify green building and design. Two of the more popular green home building programs are the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED for Homes Program and the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) National Green Building Certification. Both programs require third-party verification from a LEED Green Rater or NAHB Green Verifier.

Earlier today I participated in a White House conference call that provides more details about the President’s newly announced Better Buildings Initiative. This is a pretty exciting program directly tied to innovation, clean energy, energy efficiency, and jobs. Overall, the administration wants this to be a private sector success and not just a government program.

Wyoming residents can earn two certifications for just $75!

Everblue has partnered with Casper College in Casper, Wyoming to prepare residents for careers in energy auditing. Through the Wyoming State Energy Sector Partnership, residents will participate in a six-day training program to earn dual certification as BPI Building Analysts and Envelope-Shell Professionals. Certified individuals qualify to register as Accredited Contractors through the Building Performance Institute.
