The Ohlone Community College District and the Ohlone College plans to install largest solar panel array in Silicon Valley!

Ohlone College will install the largest solar power collection system in the Silicon Valley, a 569 kWp solar array using the most efficient solar panels available on the market today, the SunPower 220 modules from PowerLight. The flat panel system covers 38,000 square feet of the roof on the two-story “all green” facility being constructed on the satellite campus site in Newark, California.

Why Worry About Water?

The rest is locked in polar ice caps or brackish (salty) ocean water, which is undrinkable without extensive purification. Many of us hail from states with abundant freshwater and we are lucky enough to turn on the tap and receive a clear, consistent flow of water. However, in many of the arid states of the US Southwest, water is a rapidly disappearing natural resource.
