Maricopa Community College Offers Green Certifications

Partnership will provide green industry training to three college campuses in Phoenix, AZ.

Everblue Energy, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Maricopa Community College District in Phoenix, Ariz. to its reputable list of partners. Beginning in January 2011, three colleges within Maricopa Community College District will offer a slate of green industry certification courses. These classes will be held at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Estrella Mountain Community College, and Phoenix College Downtown Campus.

“We are excited about the introduction of high-quality green industry training programs in Phoenix,” said Jon Boggiano, principal at Everblue Energy. “Arizona has created a substantial place for itself to excel in the green industry by committing to prepare its labor force for emerging green collar careers. We are excited to be a part of their innovative efforts.”

Each college will offer a variety of classes to prepare students for the clean energy economy. Classes will include training for the US Green Building Council and Building Performance Institute (BPI). The US Green Building Council’s LEED exam preparation course will be geared toward preparing professionals to earn their LEED Green Associate or LEED Accredited Professional credentials for green building and construction. Everblue will offer multiple courses through BPI, including Building Analyst, Envelope Professional, and AC/Heat Pump Professional. Additional courses offered will include NABCEP Solar Boot Camp and Lead Renovator Training. All classes will be available for public enrollment beginning in January 2011.
