Workforce Development Training in Arizona

Everblue is now approved under ArizonaHeat through partnership with Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Everblue Energy announce a new partnership under ArizonaHeat that will offer workforce development training programs for dislocated and unemployed workers throughout Arizona. Job seekers qualifying for these workforce development programs will receive full scholarships to create opportunities to develop their careers in the clean energy economy. Courses available for these scholarships include LEED Green Associate Exam Preparation, LEED Accredited Professional exam preparation, BPI Building Analyst, BPI Envelope Professional, and many other courses offering nationally recognized industry certifications.

Chandler-Gilbert Community College has worked with the Arizona Workforce Connection to list each course offered with Everblue on ArizonaHeat, a list of training programs eligible for enrollment through the Workforce Investment Act. The Workforce Investment Act is geared towards providing full scholarships to jobseekers that desire to upgrade their existing workforce skills to break into a new industry.

In addition to the Workforce Investment Act, Maricopa Community College District is also the recipient of Arizona’s State Energy Sector Partnership (SESP) Grant through the United States Department of Labor. Arizona will utilize up to $6 million to prepare the State’s labor force for careers in renewable energy and energy efficiency. This grant will create additional opportunities for job seekers to receive full training scholarships for new career paths in the clean energy economy. The Arizona SESP Grant will also operate through the Arizona Workforce Connection, allowing job seekers to remain connected to their local one-stop career center.

“We are happy to collaborate with Maricopa Community College District on so many strategic opportunities for workforce development,” said Jon Boggiano, principal of Everblue Energy. “It is our hope that these two grant opportunities will be a driving force in the development of Arizona’s emerging green economy.”
