The Contracting Team Leader reports to the Contracting Manager, and is responsible for the oversight of weatherization crews and preforming home improvements such as air and duct sealing, insulation, etc.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate field operations and contracting work in the field, including whole house air-sealing, insulation, and/or duct-sealing improvements
- Act as “Crew Chief” on job sites, overseeing Weatherizers in the field
- Work with Contracting Manager to coordinate and lead contracting training
- Track and inform contracting manager of low inventory and potential “stop work” conditions
- Quality Control and review of Weatherizers
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA/local/federal/state codes for field work operations
- Build and nurture positive relationship and maintain rapport with Client during contracting operations
- Oversee and/or perform all test-out operations
- Drive contracting truck
- Manage and organize contracting storage unit
- Perform occasional comprehensive energy audits and test-outs after work completion
- Assist with other Elysian Energy programs and projects as needed

85% of homes in the United States have an issue effecting the health, safety, comfort or finances of the families living in the home. Inspired Green enhances the quality of life for families as affected by their home through home performance analysis and improvements. We leverage a partnership with a non-profit organization, certified by the Building Performance Institute, to verify that all recommendations are based in scientific evidence as opposed to a one-sided revenue gain from the sale of a product or service.

As a Home Performance Audit Technician you’ll have the opportunity to collect and analyze data obtained during through a comprehensive Home Performance Assessment. These Assessments are scheduled for you by Home Performance Consultants that meet with several families each day to determine if an Assessment or improvements might benefit them. Specifically you will:

  • Obtain square footage and volume of home
  • Conduct external inspection of roof, soffits and home façade for condition and ventilation
  • Perform blower-door depressurization testing
  • Obtain whole-house photographs and infrared thermographs.
  • Conduct Combustion Safety Tests (CAZ) of appliances and equipment.
  • Determine/measure insulation levels throughout the home
  • Visually inspect of age and condition of HVAC equipment and ducts.
  • Visually inspect/measure windows, doors and weather-stripping.
  • Identify signs of home performance issues throughout the home
  • Enter data into web-based Data Collection Form and upload/submission to online Drop-Box account

When a family decides to move forward with improvements, you will also return to conduct a ‘Test Out’ to ensure all work was installed to specification and in accordance with standards set by the Building Performance Institute.

Compensation:

Home Performance Assessor compensation is paid per activity as follows:

  • $90 per Audit (including administrative time)
  • $30 per Test-Out (post-installation quality inspection, including administrative time)

The hourly equivalent of the above activities is between $20 and $30, depending on the production efficiency of the individual.

When working at capacity you should expect to conduct 8 Audits per week and 5 Test-Outs for a total weekly compensation of $870.
