Course Recommendations

Q: I am interested in the solar field, but I don’t have any experience. Where do I begin?

A: The Entry Level Solar PV Training course is a great place to start. This introductory course covers the fundamentals of solar energy, electricity, and design and installation of solar panels. The Entry Level Solar PV class is available online and qualifies you to take the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Associate Exam (formerly called the NABCEP Entry Level Exam).

Q: I am interested in becoming a solar installation contractor. What class do you recommend?

A: The Entry Level Solar PV Training is the recommended first course as it covers the vital foundation for understanding solar photovoltaics (PV) and is a prerequisite for the more advanced Solar PV Installer class. Both courses prepare you for NABCEP exams. The Solar PV Installer course involves hands-on training and will expose you to building a 1 kW solar array.

Q: Can I take the Advanced Solar PV Installer course completely online?

A: Because the hands-on training is required, this class cannot be completed with online training only.

Q: What solar training courses do you offer?

A: Everblue has three solar training courses available: Entry Level Solar PV Training, Advanced Solar Training, and Solar Design & Sales.

Q: What type of certificate will I receive after the class?

A: You will be issued a certificate of completion from Everblue. Upon passing a NABCEP exam, you will receive the corresponding certificate from NABCEP indicating that you are certified.

About NABCEP Certification

Q: What are the different types of NABCEP exams, and how do I qualify for them?

A: The three most popular NABCEP exams are: PV Associate, PV Installation Professional, and PV Technical Sales.

Everblue’s Entry Level Solar PV Training will qualify a student for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam. Everblue’s Solar PV Mastery Combo will satisfy the Training hours required for the NABCEP PV Installation Professional Exam and the NABCEP PV Technical Sales Exam. Please visit the NABCEP website for the comprehensive list of qualifying paths to the advanced certification exams.

Q: How do I register for the NABCEP exam?

A: Once a student has successfully completed all of the training and activities associated with the Entry Level Solar PV Training class, he or she is eligible for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam. To apply for that exam, one must fill out the NABCEP Candidate Eligibility Form and email it to Everblue staff (info@everbluetraining.com). Once this form has been received and the $150 exam fee has been paid, the student’s application will be uploaded to NABCEP. Shortly thereafter, the student will be connected to a testing center so a convenient exam time and place can be scheduled.
