On June 13, 2014, Florida Governor Rick Scott signed House bill 7147 into law. HB 7147 reforms the state's law governing home energy ratings. The previous law cited organizations like the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), Building Performance Institute (BPI), Commercial Energy Services Network (COMNET), and the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) as the preferred rating systems in Florida.
