As the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks takes place this week, development on the new World Trade Center site continues to move forward, with rebuilding processes in perpetual motion. The highlight, One World Trade Center (formerly referred to as the Freedom Tower), will rise 1,776 feet above New York City’s landscape to become the tallest and most sustainable building (by square feet) in the Western Hemisphere when it is completed in 2014.
