Strides in Commercial Energy Benchmarking

I just read a fantastic article from Cliff Majersik, of the Institute for Market Transformation, talking about the growth of energy efficiency in this nation. The Huffington Post article appropriately compares this growth to the blossoming of spring – how is this appropriate? Because what we’re seeing is more and more cities across the country requiring energy benchmarking among their commercial buildings.

I was able to participate in the Large Building Infiltration Presentation at ACI, which conducted a Commercial Building Energy Audit on a 25,000-square-foot commercial building. I participated on a technician level with my friends at Energy Conservatory. I was allowed me to be a "fly on the wall," and it was fascinating to see five Minneapolis Blower Doors in operation. This commercial energy audit was done to the Army Corp of Engineers Standard, which is the best available benchmark for performing a large building energy audit.  Read more: Commercial Energy Audit – Large Building Blower Door Testing »
