5 star review"Scott Hoover was an excellent proctor and mentor, he was able to meaningfully answer the barrage of questions that my colleague and I threw at him. He had a great attitude during testing, despite the miserably hot and humid conditions. I would definitely recommend the BPI Building Analyst training through Everblue and excellent teaching from Scott Hoover. Thank You!" - Douglas L. West

5 star review"I really enjoyed the BPI Certification class. The information presented was very good prep for the written exam and the field training was excellent. Bobby has a lot of patience and made the class easy to follow. The prep for the field test was really important and very well done." - Jessica Prudencio

how much can you make per month?

anybody can share info. regarding monthly income after completion of this course? How easy or difficult to get a job with this certificate? thanks

how much can you make per month?

Submitted by Bana@Everblue

Thanks for your question.

How much you make as an energy auditor depends on a few factors. One of which is where you are located and what the industry rate in you area is. The other is whether you choose to work for a company (where you may receive an hourly rate) or you work for yourself. Should you work for yourself, expect to charge $200-$500 per audit. If you also offer retrofitting after the audit, the retrofit is typically between $1200 - $5000.

Thank you,
Bana

equipment

Submitted by 1906 (not verified)

I am interested in signing up for BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Training. My concern is the cost for equipment needed to work in the field. Is it included in the fee or if not whats the average cost for the equipment needed to get started?

equipment

Submitted by Everblue

Hello,

Everblue's BPI Building Analyst course includes the field training equipment you will need in class. But students do need to purchase their own equipment after class to run their businesses.

We have partnerships in place with the two leading manufacturers to offer discounts to our BPI students. After you attend training, you'll be eligible for a 14% discount from Retrotec and a 12.5% discount from The Energy Conservatory.

And keep in mind, prices will vary depending on manufacturer, new vs. used, wi-fi connectivity vs. not, etc. You can always shop around online and find good deals on the equipment.

Thanks,

Great Experience with BPI Class - MA

Submitted by Mike T (not verified)

I wanted to share my great experience with the BPI Analyst Certification class I recently attended in Waltham, MA. The class was well organized, well run, and lead by what should be consider leaders in their field. Alex and Phil were very personable, respectful, and helpful throughout the certification experience. I would freely recommend them, and Everblue for individuals seeking a program with solid support and results.

job placement?

Submitted by Everblue

We are happy to hear that you and your neighbor are excited about Everblue's BPI program!

While we provide quality training and study materials to prepare you for your BPI Building Analyst certification, we do not provide job placement. We would suggest that you look at the many green job websites out there. In fact, the Building Performance Institute website offers a "Find a Job" option: http://bpi.org/find-a-job.

Thanks!

Starting an Energy Consulting Business

Submitted by Tameka (not verified)

I would like to start an Energy Consulting business for small businesses and homeowners. Can you tell me if having this specific certification will increase my chances on being suitable for opening this type of business? If so, what other certifications would you recommend that I pursue?

Starting an Energy Consulting Business

Submitted by Everblue

Tameka,

Earning the LEED Green Associate credential would be the perfect way to learn more about what's involved with starting a consulting business! You learn the rating systems set up by the U.S. Green Building Council to provide a benchmark for sustainable building.

The other credential you would want to earn is the BPI Building Analyst which is hands on and teaches you how to retrofit existing homes to be more energy efficient. You learn how to walk through a home and assess the energy saving needs of a homeowner.

Thank you!

BPI Qualified Manufacturer?

Submitted by Brad E. (not verified)

My question regarding becoming a BPI qualified Manufacturer to supply the BPI certified contractors. Would Solar Air Heating Panels qualify for BPI?

BPI Certification for Manufacturers

Submitted by Everblue

Brad,

Unfortunately, BPI only certifies individuals and home performance contractors. The standards do not apply to specific, individual products, although you could target your sales and marketing to the BPI Building Analysts and Home Performance Contractors that would be installing your products.

We have many manufacturer representatives get BPI and LEED certified so that they can understand the programs and the program-specific terminology. Once you understand how BPI and LEED Certification works, you can be much more effective with your sales efforts.

Can Anyone Take the BPI Exam

Submitted by Bridgesth (not verified)

Whats up dude? Can any one take the test or do you need special background and skills? Do I need a computer to take the exam?

Anyone can take the BPI Certification Exam

Submitted by Everblue

Hello,

Yes, anyone can take the BPI Certification Exam. For the BPI Building Analyst there are no pre-requisites. Although, if you are new to the industry you will have to work harder to master the terminology and study more to understand the core concepts in order to be successful on the BPI exam.

As for the computer, you will need one on the day of your test. If you do not have one, contact us and we can help make arrangements.

We look forward to having you in class.
