LEED Experience

I am a LEED GA and want to become a LEED AP, but I don't have have experience on a LEED project. Is there a program that can assist me with this requirement in order to qualify for the exam?

RE: LEED Experience

Submitted by Jamie@Everblue

Hello and thank you for your question.

The fact that you do not have LEED project experience is not a problem. It used to be a requirement for a candidate to possess LEED project experience to qualify for the LEED AP exam. This is no longer the case. Now, to qualify for the LEED AP exam, you only have to take & pass the LEED Green Associate exam - and of course take & pass the LEED AP exam!.

Thank you,

LEED AP BD & C requirement

Submitted by Anonymous

Hi,
I am mechanical engineer working in saudi arabia. I am planning to do LEED AP BD and C. I have worked on the KAUST Project in Jeddah which got LEED Platinum rating. But I have left the company (Bureau Veritas) two years back.

I worked on this project from April 2009 to Jan 2010.

My question is,do I need BV company letter head, stating that I have worked on the KAUST project.

Thanks
Engr.Saqlain

Hello and thank you for your question.

LEED AP candidates are no longer required to complete LEED project experience to qualify for the exam. As long as you've passed your LEED Green Associate exam, you can qualify for the LEED AP exam.

Thank you,

Testing for LEED GA

Submitted by Anonymous

Due to the scheduling in my area of LEED classes, I'd like to take the LEED GA class and LEED AP BD+C back to back. I know you advise to take the tests individually but is it ok to attend the LEED AP BD+C prior to taking the LEED GA exam?

Testing for LEED GA

It is certainly possible to take our BD+C course prior to earning the Green Associate. It will make things more challenging, but if you have the time to commit for both rounds of study you can do it!

Hello, I'm a LEED GA. If I want to get training for LEED AP ID+C, ND, or Homes, am I SOL? It appears you don't have training courses for these. Thanks, - Art

Hello Art and thank you for your question.

We currently offer training for LEED AP BD+C and LEED AP O+M because they are the most popular LEED AP designations. However, we are certainly open to offering the other LEED AP Specialty training courses. Give us a call at 800-460-2575 and we'll add you to our waiting list for the other specialties.

Thank you,

Your ad you posted through Google adwords keeps saying "become LEED Certified". Your website looks like it is correct. However, your Google ads definitely need to be modified as they are incorrect. I hope that helps.

Hello,

Here at Everblue, we take great pride in our LEED training programs. One of the most important aspects we teach is the importance of the LEED brand which includes the usage of proper LEED terminology. The best example is the tendency for people to say LEEDs Certification - note, there should not be an "s" at the end of LEED.

With that being said, we specialize in reaching out to the building industry and teaching them about LEED so at times we have to reach out to prospective students who may unknowingly be using the wrong terminology.

We appreciate the feedback!

Do we need to be LEED GA accredited to be able to do the LEED AP exam?

Submitted by Everblue

Yes, you need to earn your LEED Green Associate accreditation before you earn your LEEP AP with specialty.

I have read that If we have experience on a LEED registered project, we can take both exams together?

The exam will be two parts and the first part assesses general knowledge of the LEED rating systems, the LEED certification process, and the approaches that can be used in sustainable design. The specifications of this part of the exam are identical to those of the LEED Green Associate exam. Is that true?

Thank you!

RE: LEED AP

You are correct that there is an option to take the LEED Green Associate and LEED AP Specialty exams in the same sitting. However, Everblue does not recommend this as these exams cover a great deal of information.

Thanks,

Hi I am a contractor in RI. To be honest I am more interested in building and remodeling green than I am the title. If I enroll how do I get from GA to AP. I want to put myself in a green building only category. I believe it is a good cause and it is the future.

Thanks Jason

LEED GA to LEED AP

Submitted by Everblue

Jason,

Once you earn the LEED Green Associate credential, you can then pursue LEED AP. For most people, the Green Associate teaches you all of the principles of green building and sustainability so unless you're actually working on a LEED project, you might not need the LEED AP credential.

Also, remember that the purpose of the credential is to incentive people to learn about green building so even if you do not plan to take the test, the training for the exam is invaluable for green building contractors.

Chicago LEED Training Courses

I understand that in order to just SIT for any of the LEED AP exam, you have to have worked on a LEED Certified Project. Be that is not the case for me, is it worth me even taking the Green Associate exam? Separately, I noticed no courses are offered in Chicago for the LEED BC course, which is what I'm most interested in. Rich

Chicago LEED Green Associate

Submitted by Everblue

Rich,

The LEED exams no longer require project experience. Our LEED Exam Prep courses will teach you everything you need to know to pass the exams.

The LEED Green Associate is really what most people are looking for in terms of a LEED Credential. You'll be able to put LEED Green Associate on your signature block, business card, resume, etc. You'll understand the LEED rating systems, the LEED credit categories, and you'll be able to converse intelligently with customers about LEED. Unless you will be actively working on LEED projects, most people do not require the LEED AP level of accreditation.

You'll notice that we offer the LEED training in online and live formats. To view our upcoming schedule of in-person trainings, please visit our Training Locations page.
