  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Winthrop University
  • Earned a minor in Interior Design
  • Has managed the LEED Certification of 13 New Construction and Commercial Interiors projects (10 Gold), representing in excess of 2.5 million square feet
  • Works as a Sustainability Officer for the State of Maryland, where she was tasked with developing and implementing the department's sustainability program

  • Fun Fact: Led the effort to form the Charlotte Region Chapter of the USGBC in 2005 and served as the chapter's founding Chair until 2008

  • Master's degree in Community and Regional Planning from University of New Mexico
  • Bachelor's degree in English/Communications from Fort Lewis College
  • 10 years' experience in the environmental field, ranging from LEED project management, sustainability policy work, implementing federal sustainability requirements and an environmental management system, designing and installing green roofs, and planning for sustainable development
  • Is a co-founder of the New Mexico Emerging Green Builders Chapter

  • Has over 25 years' experience delivering energetic, engaging high-impact training and consulting to a wide variety of construction, educational, legal, and professional services organizations worldwide

  • Has written curriculum and conducted training sessions for nearly 20 years

Sasha Sampaio, LEED Green Associate
  • Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law
  • Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies from University of New Mexico, graduated cum laude
  • Passed the Florida Bar in February 2006 on first attempt
  • Assisted in writing and securing three federal grants from HUD totaling $120,000

Shannon Deeb Photo Everblue Instructor Shannon Deeb, LEED AP
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology from College of Charleston
  • Worked on the Navy Yard at Noisette project, which entailed redeveloping 340 acres of a former Naval Base into a sustainable mixed-use community
  • Served as the primary member of the team for the LEED-ND certification process for the Navy Yard at Noisette under the Pilot Program
  • Has worked on LEED projects that include an affordable multi-family project in Indiana (LEED for Homes) and an intermodal center in the Charleston area (LEED-NC)
  • Represents Everblue in South Carolina
  • Fun Fact: Has been an instructor for Everblue since 2009

  • Worked with the National Weatherization Assistance Program from 1994-2007
  • Served in many capacities, including Air-Sealing Crewman, Insulation Crew Leader, Inventory Controller, Energy Auditor, and Lead-Safe Weatherization Trainer
  • Had the highest customer satisfaction and production numbers of any employee in the history of the WAP program in Utah
  • Owned a general contracting business for four years
  • Represents Everblue in Utah
  • Fun Fact: Is a successful actor/director/producer/writer 


Arthur Pakatar Photo Everblue Instructor Arthur Pakatar, BPI BA/ENV/HP/MF BA, RESNET HERS Rater, LEED Green Associate
  • Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy Technology Management from Excelsior College
  • 30 years' experience in residential and commercial design and construction
  • Serves as a member of the BPI Accreditation Management Board, RBE-WHALCI Scheme Committee, and recently assisted BPI on the development of its new Energy Auditor and Quality Control Inspector Certifications
  • Has designed and built several hundred homes and 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space

  • Has worked in the commercial real estate field for more than 30 years

  • Owns Building Inspector Services, providing inspections and consultation for commercial and residential properties

  • Fun Fact: Has been the Show Superintendent for the Llama Show at the California State Fair for the past 12 years

  • 15 years of construction experience in small commercial and residential insulation, weatherization, and general contracting
  • Served as a program manager and trainer for Veterans Green Jobs Program contract and DC WIN Weatherization Program contract
  • Managed 45 crews in three divisions of new construction and retrofit work
  • Also achieved a DOE LEAD RRP 8-hour certificate
  • Represents Everblue in Maryland
  • Fun Fact: Very active in his sons' sports and community outreach events
