NABCEP PV System Inspector

With the growth of solar installations, one skill set in the solar workforce is proving to be in high demand, and that is solar system inspection. The new NABCEP PV System Inspector Certification aims to fill this gap in the marketplace to ensure future success for the solar electric industry.

Companies that have been performing comprehensive PV system inspections nationwide have found that even after local permitting and inspection, more than 25% of systems being installed today have major or critical issues, and only a quarter are trouble-free. A NABCEP-certified PV System Inspector is responsible for interpreting design plans, conducting on-site system inspections, and reporting results to municipalities and agencies to ensure that solar electric systems are performing as they should.
