The NABCEP PV Installer Specialist credential requires 24 hours of advanced training - 18 hours of advanced PV installation principles and practices as outlined in the NABCEP PV Installer Specialist Job Task Analysis, and 6 hours of the National Electric Code. Does Everblue provide such a training course or just the 40 hour PV Installer Professional? Also, does the course comply with the 6 hours of NEC training required by NABCEP? Thanks, Caleb Dana

Hi Caleb! At this time, we don't offer a formal program for the NABCEP PV Installer Specialist credential. However, since our PV201 Solar Installation course is 40 hours in duration and is aligned/approved for the NABCEP PVIP job task analysis, this training would more than cover the 18-hour requirement for the PV Installer Specialist credential. Moreover, we do also offer the 6 hours of 2017 NEC Code training. That said, you could register for the PV201 Solar Installation course ($1599) and the NEC Code training ($99) to help qualify for the PV Installer credential. If you'd like to do this, please give us a call at (877) 358-4987 and we can manually register you over the phone. Thanks!

Hello, I see on the nabcep website that the PV installation professional exam "requires 6 project credits with decision-making role." Does your program meet this requirement?

Hi, thanks for your question. Our NABCEP PVIP program satisfies the Educational/Training requirements. It does not satisfy the Work Experience requirement, as NABCEP expects candidates to gain project experience on a real solar work site. This work experience must also be in a leadership or decision-making role. We recommend participating in the GRID Alternatives Team Leader program, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, or apprenticing with a solar installation company to get that project experience. You can learn more about the work experience requirement in the NABCEP Certification Handbook. Hope this helps!
